The untimely death of an eminent doctor and researcher, Dr. Anjana Sharma leaves her PhD student Dr. Sanjeev Tripathi with an incomplete thesis. Soon, Sanjeev discovers that Anjana had left a mysterious wooden vault and some relics for him before her death which, he believes, will help him complete his doctoral research. In an attempt to unfold the secret of the vault, Sanjeev finds himself entangled in a series of events which leads him to an enthralling inner journey to discover the truth and an answer to a medical enigma. A medical mythological mystery set in contemporary time, which redefines conviction in the ancient scriptures and gives a new perspective to age old legends.

Now the Review:

This story is fast moving. The author quickly introduces the characters and focuses on the story and the mystery with a strong sense of purpose towards resolving it for the readers.

I liked that every chapter opens with a verse from the "chalisa" and lays the groundwork for the events to come. The author gives us her interpretation of the "chalisa" but it is far from being pedantic, it is rather informative of her faith. There is much of a coincidence that all characters and their names line up conveniently with the story she weaves, but I would just leave it as artistic liberty :)

An amazing book, commendable job by the author in first book itself. Liked the way secrets unfold one after another by reading the chalisa. The interpretation and analogies give a very refreshing thought.
